Within the Port Jersey Vehicle Distribution Center, the VDC Quality Manager is in charge of the Quality Management System for BMW Group Products and Processes (VDC). As a management representative, you will be the operational quality point of contact for all US VDCs with Plant representatives, as well as TV-65, on specific current quality issues.

Responsibilities include for the job of BMW of North America but are not limited to:

  • QAD (Quality Alert Document) reporting to manufacturing plants worldwide serving the US market is one of the responsibilities.
  • The US Market's principal operational quality liaison to TV-65 and all Plant contacts for quality comments on particular, current quality issues.
  • All other VDC Facilities are responsible for conducting Q-gate calibration tasks.
  • The reporting portion of the Q-gate and Exit Check processes, as well as any quality audits that are deemed required within the VDC.
  • Working with Management to develop such activities and conclude with defined outputs by agreed timeframes, lead and facilitate continuous improvement activities such as VPS (Value-added Production System) and Lean Six Sigma.
  • PJ VDC's ISO 9001:2015 Management Representative ensures that the facility meets the standard on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate and lead the PJVDC Corrective Action process, ensuring that an effective investigation is conducted, agreed-upon measures are followed up on, and process modifications are robust and recorded at all times. Ensure that all accompanying paperwork is up to date and that all (re)training is completed correctly and on schedule.
  • Liaison with Technical Services for product or process research and validation that affects VDC's operations.

Experience and Qualifications for BMW of North America

  • Experience in logistics or
  •  supply chain management with a high school diploma
  • Preferences: 3+ years of process development, analysis, or automotive logistics
  • Experience in Quality Control with a college diploma OEM experience
