Friendship was emphasized at the 5th “Hurrah” Cup football match being held in Istanbul

 



The youth of every nation are the nation’s valuable resources and future leaders. There is a considerable number of young Uighurs living in Turkey. Recently, Uyghur organizations in Turkey are focusing on training Uyghur youth through sports and establishing mutual friendship.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 5th Hurra Cup football match being held in Istanbul, the president of the East Turkistan Sports and Development Association, Tahir Kobayarak, addressed the Uyghur youth; “I hope that you will not put the competition first and friendship second, but put friendship first and the competition second, and play matches based on mutual respect,” he said.

Organized by the East Turkistan Sports and Development Association in Istanbul, the 5th Hurra Cup football tournament in Istanbul officially started on August 6 with the participation of 16 teams and 160 members of Uyghur youth.

At the opening ceremony of the competition, the chairman of the East Turkistan Sports and Development Association Mr. Tahir Kobayarak made an opening speech.

In his speech, Tahir Blue Flag said that the main purpose of organizing this match is to bring together the youth of the East Turkistan Sports and Development Association, to prepare a meeting place, to achieve mutual cooperation, unity, harmony and unity. He said that he had achieved that goal.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, the president of the International Association of East Turkistan Organizations, Hidaydullah Oiztkhan, encouraged and supported the Uyghur youth who participated in the tournament. He expressed that everyone is brother to each other, he will celebrate everyone, and he hopes that this tournament will strengthen the bond of brotherhood and have a happy ending.

Dr. Dilshat Barishchi, the representative of the World Uyghur Congress Foundation, also spoke at the ceremony and expressed his congratulations to all the football players who participated in the competition, and expressed his support and encouragement for the future activities of the East Turkistan Sports and Development Association.

The tournament will last for a week and 4 teams will compete in a round robin format each day.

Tahir Blue Flag said that the first team will receive 5,000 Turkish liras, the second team will receive 3,000 Turkish liras, and the third team will receive 2,000 Turkish liras in cash and trophies.

In the 5th “Hurrah” Cup round match played on August 7, the Mirror team played against the Udon team. Both sides performed very well. But in taking chances, the Udon team missed many opportunities. The Mirror team, on the other hand, played hard. A red card in the last minute to beat Udon with a man down.

The newly formed youth center team played against the Akhorda team and ended with the victory of the White Horda team.

Today’s final matchup was a battle of the mighty.

The Atilla team, made up of Kyrgyz Uyghurs, played against the strong team of Ili Mashripi, who finished second consecutively in the last two rounds. The match thrilled the audience. Both sides played with the highest level of skill to the cheers. As a result, the Kyrgyz Uighurs Attila team, which had specially prepared for this match, won 3-5.

It is reported that the competition continues every night and the finals will be played on August 16. “Hurrah Uyghur” trophy and cash prizes will be awarded to the 1-2-3 teams.

We got some young people’s thoughts on this football match. Sardarjan, the captain of the Mirror team, said that he considers this football match to be one of the biggest social events for Uyghurs in Turkey. He said that sports, especially sports that require collective strength, such as football, are of great importance in protecting the existence of Uyghurs abroad.

Uyghur football player Abu Bakri commented on the match and said that regardless of whether they won or lost, the Uyghur youth played well until the end in a high spirit and thanked the strong referees and the audience who constantly applauded the players and shouted hurrahs for the fairness of the match.
